MSI tell me the ratios available are dependant on the CPU type you have.If it is a 400MHz model (regardless of what FSB you overclock it to) you won't get the DDR333 option at 533MHz but setting it to 266 will make it at that FSB DDR354.A 533MHz model will have DDR333 option but not the DDR354 option.Having the 3:4 ratio is good for preformance but not if you have slower memory.I asked them to change it a bit but they say they don't think it would be a good idea.400@533 - 266 or 354533@533 - 266 or 333. Mine is a 845PE v2.0, with intergrated LAN & sound, Samsung 2700 ram, and there is no DDR333 option in the bios. After upgrading to the newest bios i also seem to have lost a lot of points in the sandra cpu benchmark? I also having problems rebooting, and after a couple of tries it starts, but all my bios settings are lost. And to think that i've recomended MSI mainboards over the last few years, and when i finally bought one myself it turned out to be a piece of s.t:P.
At least so far, lets hope a bios update can cure it. I already posted this in another thread, but my findings are the same as batchman's.Repost:I have the 845PE Max2, here's what I have found. If I set the memory to 333 and the fsb to 150mhz in the bios, the RAM runs at 375mhz (like it should). But anything above, lowers the RAM to 266, so 155fsb = RAM at 310mhz.I was quite disapointed, considering I had just bought 512mb Corsiar 3200C2.I did find a work around though. If you set the bios to 133-150 fsb, and DDR to 333, it will boot with a 333 memory divider.
Then use Msi's Fuzzy Logic 4 to overclock within Windows. It does not reset the memory divider.I have been running 160fsb, 400mhz DDR without any problems for a week now. I would prefer that the machine just boot up at this speed from bios settings, but until they fix this with a bios release (if ever), it'll have to do. My experience with the new bios (1.3):I also got the 2.55Ghz on bootup, but only when I set the mem to 355, not at 333.It seems the same as the 1.2 bios, all settings above 151 fsb make the mem default to 266 speeds.355DDR DID work for me if I set the fsb below 151.Other bugs I have noticed with ALL versions of the bios: The bios does not read the SPD of my Corsair, or my Samsung DDR correctly, it sets everything to the lowest settings 2.5,3,3,7. If I set them manually they work fine at 2,2,2,5.
BUT if I set 'high performance default' settings in the bios, it ignores my manual settings, and Cpu-z show 2.5,3,2,6, NO MATTER WHAT I SET IN THE BIOS.And with everything set to default, the CPU speed is 2430 in Windows (135fsb), not 2400 as it should be. Remote desktop google chrome. Default overclocking? Sounds like an Asus board to me!These minor problems could easily be fixed in a new bios.
So what is the holdup Msi?I flashed back to 1.2 because performance is better.Meanwhile I'll just keep using Fuzzy Logic 4 to get 160fsb, 400mhz DDR. The more I read your product spec on your webpage the more mad I'm getting X(this is wat was stated in your product spec:Main Memory. Supports two 184-pin DDR200/DDR266/DDR333 DIMMs. Supports Max.
Memory size of 2GB. No support ECC FunctionNote: FSB533 CPU is required in order to choose DDR333 selection in the BIOS setup.I think you should be doing some amendment to the spec satting the DDR333 support. Cos i dun see a sh.t of it. I am using a FSB533 CPU in 2.4B and DDR400 Kingmax Rams. And flashed to the latest 3.4 bios. Ya, totally agreed with you batchman, my msi 648 max having same problem where the vcore adjustment hold at 1.625v, this is cruel for my 2.4B C1 chip where can overclock easily to 3ghz in asus P4PE but only can get 2.55ghz (142x18) because of the poor voltage setting.pci/agp clock setting also suxxx, no downclock or fixed value setting, completely disappointed with MSI.:OI wish i could sell this MSI board away ASAP and get ASUS or GIGABYTE even ABIT better than it, if this so call restriction carry on and i promise not to get any MSI boards in future.BTW MSI board overclockability SUXXXX:O. Hi all.I was unable to convince MSI to change the memory speed seletion to a more simple ratio menue:(It seems to be something the marketing dept wants to be kept unchanged for some reason I can't understand. This means that DDR333 for overclocking 100-133 won't be available and it will run the mem at 354MHz.On the same basis people with a 533MHz FSB CPU can't select 354MHz, only 266 and 333.People with a 533MHz CPU and that are not able to select 333MHzCan you please clear the CMOS and set the FSB to 133 to see if DDR333 becomes available? If not then does disabling the SPD controll allow it?

Thanks for the update Assaf, I have been following this thread. My configuration is a P4 2.4Ghz with 400FSB, two sticks of 256MB PC2700 Kingmax DDR333.I bought my 845PE Max2 board a few days ago and luckily I can still take it back to the store, which is exactly what I'll be doing tomorrow. I plan to buy the ASUS board with the 845PE chipset as a replacement. My last MSI board (645 Ultra) served me well, and supported DDR333 without any hoops to jump through. But there's no reason to stick with a piece of junk when there are other competitors out there. The joys of capitalism!Anyway, goodbye MSI!:P.
Ah sorry for the lousy uncreative title cause I really suck at writing titles sigh. Anyway since this post is about my trip to Milan and some other stuff so I think Milan and more sounds apt wtf.Milan was a complete letdown for us actually. We didn’t enjoy it much at all not because it wasn’t beautiful but because the people there were just.pricks.
That was the main reason why I didn’t like Europe in the first place, cause the people here have been very very mean to me but then again.maybe it’s just me ðŸ™x81Anyway here are pictures of Milan. It was no doubt one of the prettiest places I’ve seen but what’s the point when people are so mean hmmp!#30. 20 March ’09We had so many troubles with our trains (again! But not our fault this time) so we had to stop at this place called Lugano which is south of Switzerland. It was absolutely the prettiest place I have ever seen in my life. If there was heaven, this is what I imagine it’ll look like (so corny haha).I didn’t take this picture (googled it) but this is exactly how it looks like, trust me.When we saw it, there were yachts in the lake actually which made it so much prettier. I really hope I’ll get to come here again next time! Finally got to see switzerland’s snow mountains! We reached Milan 5 hours later!

This is the train station. After settling down in our hotel (with very rude staff), we headed to the most famous landmark in Milan. This was what greeted me when I walked out of the train station. Both our jaws dropped to the ground and we stood there for a few minutes with our mouths open. It’s the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in the whole wide world TTBarry and the cathedral. This cathedral (the Duomo) is the third largest in the world!
